Hetch Hetchy

Hetch Hetchy is the reservoir where most of San Francisco's drinking water is coming from. It connect with the city though a system of canals and pipelines. The Western end is the Water Temple by Canada Rd and Chrustal Spings Reservoir. The Hetch Hetchy Valley is not unlike the Yosemite Valley only filled up with water.

The road to Hetch Hetchy is a nice alternative to Hwy 120 to Yosemite and also a nice trip in its own right.

You start at Cherry Lake Rd and Hwy 120 and climb up to Mather. From there is downtown to the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Then you need climb back to Mather. From here you can take Evergreen Rd back to Hwy 120 which gets you close to entrance of the Yosemite National Park.
