Virginia Lakes Rd

Virginia Lakes Rd is a relatively short, but beautiful climb to the Virginia Lakes which are at an elevation of almost 3000 m. You gain about 500 m over 9 km which is a grade of about 5.5%. It's an excellent road and traffic is light to moderate. The views are great in all directions.

There is a cafe and a general store at the end of the paved road, right at the shore of Little Virginia Lake.

You could start your climb in Lee Vining or Bridgeport taking Hwy 395. There's a shoulder on Hwy 395 almost all the way from Lee Vining to Bridgeport.
